Exhaust Hoods – Capture where source extraction is not possible
Exhaust hoods capture welding fumes, vapours, fine particles, mist and aerosols above the process area, helping control airborne contaminants where extraction directly at the source is difficult or impractical.
What are exhaust hoods and when should you use them?
Exhaust hoods are designed to capture contaminated air above a defined working area rather than directly at the emission source. They are particularly useful for welding and automated production processes where extraction arms or point-extraction systems cannot be positioned close enough to the source, or where the working area changes during production. By creating a controlled capture zone above the process, the hood collects fumes, vapours, fine dust, mist and aerosols before they spread further into the workshop.
When is an exhaust hood the right choice?
An exhaust hood is a practical solution when the process cannot be enclosed and direct source extraction would interfere with production. It is especially suitable for automated welding cells, robotic systems, larger workpieces and production areas where the extraction system must remain outside the immediate working envelope.

Where exhaust hoods are used
Exhaust hoods are best suited to processes where emissions rise naturally and where capture directly at the source is difficult to maintain.
