Silo Extractors – Reliable material discharge from storage silos

Silo extractors are designed to remove stored bulk material from silos in a controlled and continuous way. They are especially suitable for sawdust, wood shavings and similar materials that can compact or bridge during storage, helping maintain stable discharge toward rotary valves, conveyors or downstream processing equipment.

ABOUT SILO EXTRACTORS

What are silo extractors and when should you use them?

Silo extractors are mechanical discharge systems installed at the base of a storage silo to help move stored material toward one or more discharge points. Materials such as sawdust and wood shavings do not always flow freely under gravity. They can compact, bridge or remain trapped inside the storage volume. A silo extractor mechanically moves and loosens the material so it can be discharged continuously into a rotary valve, screw conveyor or other downstream handling equipment.

Why use a silo extractor?

Reliable storage is only useful if the stored material can also be removed predictably. By actively moving material toward the discharge point, a silo extractor helps reduce bridging and uncontrolled flow while supporting more consistent downstream handling. This is particularly important in woodworking and other applications where light, fibrous bulk materials do not behave like free-flowing powders.

PRODUCT

Silo extractors in our range

Two extraction concepts cover different silo geometries and discharge requirements.

LINE SILO EXTRACTOR

SE

SE is a line extractor developed for removing and discharging waste material from silos with a conical bottom. The unit uses a shaft fitted with spikes and driven by a gear motor. The motorized assembly is positioned vertically below the extractor, while one or more discharge openings can be provided for connection to a rotary valve or other downstream equipment.
2,400–4,000 mm · 3 kW · multiple discharge outlets
SIDE SILO EXTRACTOR

EBR

EBR is a side extractor designed for the extraction and discharge of waste material from larger storage silos and pits. Its construction combines leaf springs, helical shafts and a gear motor. The leaf springs loosen the stored material, while the horizontal screw conveyor transports it toward a rotary extractor for continuous discharge from the silo.

APPLICATIONS

Where silo extractors are used

Silo extractors are particularly useful for bulk materials that tend to compact, bridge or require active movement toward the discharge point.

WOOD PROCESSING

Controlled extraction of material collected from woodworking and central dust extraction systems.

FURNITURE PRODUCTION

Reliable discharge of light, fibrous material stored after machining and sanding processes.

STORAGE SILOS

Installed at the silo base to move stored material toward one or more outlets.

CONCRETE PITS

EBR can also be installed in circular or square cement pits where stored material needs active extraction.

ROTARY VALVE FEEDING

Silo extractors can feed material toward rotary valves for controlled discharge into conveying or processing equipment.

SCREW CONVEYING

EBR integrates a screw conveyor to move loosened material from the silo toward the discharge point.

WHY TEHNO FILTER SILO EXTRACTORS

Built for reliable discharge from difficult bulk storage

MATERIAL LOOSENING

Mechanical agitation helps move compacted or fibrous material toward the discharge system.

ROBUST CONSTRUCTION

Both SE and EBR use mechanically simple, heavy-duty components intended for continuous material handling.

MULTIPLE DISCHARGE OPTIONS

SE can be configured with one or more discharge openings, while EBR can feed material into integrated conveying equipment.

LOW MAINTENANCE

Tehno Filter identifies low maintenance costs as one of the primary benefits of both silo extractor ranges.
