Stationary Oil Mist Filters – Clean air around CNC machining processes
Stationary oil mist filters capture oil mist, emulsion aerosols, lubricant particles and smoke generated during CNC machining and other metalworking processes. Installed directly on or beside the machine, they help control airborne contamination close to the source while supporting cleaner working conditions and reliable machine operation.
What are oil mist filters and when should you use them?
Oil mist filters are designed to remove fine droplets, aerosols and smoke generated when cutting fluids, lubricants and emulsions are used during machining. These contaminants can escape from CNC machines and spread into the surrounding production area if they are not captured effectively. Stationary oil mist filters are normally connected directly to the machine enclosure by flexible ducting. Contaminated air passes through several filtration stages, where liquid droplets and fine particulate are separated before the cleaned air is discharged.
When is an exhaust hood the right choice?
Oil and emulsion aerosols behave differently from ordinary dry dust. They can remain suspended in the air, create deposits on machines and surrounding surfaces and place additional load on ventilation systems. A dedicated mist collector is therefore designed specifically around liquid aerosols, smoke and lubricant contamination rather than conventional dust filtration.
